Carowinds Passholder Preview and Media Day

We were invited by Carowinds to see what’s new in 2024. Coming off the success of opening Aeronautica Landing, its highly themed land featuring new flat rides and specialty food locations, we were excited to see what the Charlotte NC park has to offer this year. We started with a look at some of the new food offerings coming to various locations across the park!

The mac n’ cheese bites were the highlight for me and honestly all of it shows some real promise in delivering food and beverage options that exceed guest’s expectations!

We spent the rest of the evening seeing what is new around the park.

First up we saw the newly rebranded Thunder Road section of the park. The license with the Earnhardt family seems to have run out with the re-naming of the B&M hyper coaster previously known as the Intimidator being now listed as Thunder Striker. The Victory Lane section of the park looks a bit conspicuously barren if you know what was there before. Dale’s famous number 3 car, banners listing every win, and branding in the ground have all been removed and not yet replaced with anything. Hopefully over the season we will see this area take on the new Thunder Striker theme that is briefly described on the park’s website.

We also saw the full implementation of Cedar Fair’s next generation Fast Lane scanning system. Now when guests purchase the skip the line program wristband, they will have to scan the band at newly-installed kiosks located at all participating attractions.

The kiosks work great and scan quickly! lastly we checked out the progress on Vortex as it gets a fresh coat of paint!

Be sure to check out Carowinds this season! Thank you to the Carowinds team for inviting us out and we cannot wait to return! Learn more about visiting the park here!
