Valleyfair Announces the A-maize-ing Corn Fest

Press Release from Valleyfair:

Shakopee, MN (July 16, 2024) – Valleyfair is excited to announce the return of Corn Fest, a celebration of Minnesota’s favorite crop. This delicious food festival offers a bushel of sweet and savory takes on corn, live and local music, and a barrel of corn-forward activities. Corn Fest will have tons of kernel-popping fun for the entire family.

“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate that late summer sunshine by having cobs of fun at the park,” said Raul Rehnborg, Valleyfair’s vice president and general manager. “Corn is not only a staple of Minnesota’s harvest season, but it’s also one of the state’s largest exports and something to be proud of. So, bring the whole family and enjoy a multigenerational cornucopia of fun and tasty experiences!”

The event runs Saturdays and Sundays (as well as Labor Day) August 17 through September 2. Throughout the park guests can enjoy:

  • Cornalicious Dishes and Drinks: Our culinary team is whipping up some sweet and savory takes on corn including Rainbow Elote, Frito Pie with Corn and White Bean Chili, Corn Ribs, Roasted Green Chile Corn Burgers, Roasted Black Bean and Corn Queso Fries, Loaded Corn Nuggets, Corn Ice Cream Funnel Cakes, and Caramel Corn Funnel Cake Fries. We will also be serving up special Jack Daniels cocktails (Maizie’s Rhubarb Refresher, Tennessee Whiskey Mule, Front Porch Peach Fizz) and popcorn and beer flights. And of course, butter dipped corn-on-the-cob. Food is served at a variety of locations around the Gazebo stage area.

  • Live Music: Throughout the event, rock, bluegrass, and country music will be creating ear-pleasing tunes at the Gazebo Stage. Bands include The Dam Jammers (bluegrass rock), Coyote Wild (classic and current rock and country), The Michael Handler Project (acoustic pop-rock) King Wilkie’s Dream (bluegrass), Dresses with Pockets (alternative), and The Walker Brothers Band (acoustic funk/blues).

  • Corn Eating Contest: Daily corn eating contests.

  • The Residents of Corn Fest: Meet Mayor Shucks and his friendly associates.

  • Cobs of Games: Enjoy winner-every-time prize games.

  • Crafts: Kids and parents are welcome to create harvest-inspired crafts in our craft tent.
