LEGOLAND New York 1st to Play Preview Event Photo Update!

This week we got to take our very first steps into the brand new LEGOLAND New York Resort! Located in Goshen, New York, the park is the third LEGOLAND park in the US and the largest in size (not attractions as we will see). Part of the Behind the Brick preview, we were given a look into 5 of the parks 7 brick-themed lands along with a ride on the exclusive to New York new ride Prof Brick’s LEGO Adventure dark ride! Enjoy a photo tour around the park set to open May 29th for its first phase of official operations!

The park features an update to the traditional LEGOLAND gate with some newer franchises represented.

You enter into a land that is unique to LEGOLAND New York, Bricktopia, here we find the entryway with BRAD (Big Red Awesome Dino) and some colorful flat rides and the parks Big Shop!

Right away you are faced with the park’s exclusive ride, Prof. Bricks Adventure! This trackless dark ride takes you through a LEGO designer’s workplace and on the ride you learn about how the famous bricks are made and then are transformed into a minifigure yourself as you travel through several large rooms. The ride features effects including brick-built characters, projection mapping on themeing, a projected video screen section, motion tracking of guests, spacial audio, all on a trackless vehicle that can spin, tilt, and rumble while carrying 6 guests. The ride alone is worth a visit to the park!

The Ninjago part of the park will be familiar to anyone who’s visited a LEGOLAND before.

The Friends nature trail is a winding pathway that gets to you the bottom of the hill the park is built on. We can see these wiggles being replaced with stairs very soon. Construction can be seen all over the park is everything from last minute touches to what looks like months of work continue.

The Castle section is well-themed and contains the park’s 2 roller coasters as well, sadly neither were operating today.

LEGO City and Pirates are still pretty heavily under construction with City planned to open with the park partially, but no date for Pirates has been given yet.

Lastly, we got a peek at Miniland, recreations of real-life locations constructed entirely out of LEGO bricks. This is easily one of the largest Minilands we have seen and it covers locations covering the East and West coasts and a bit of everything in between. Locations include Goshen, New York City, Washington DC, Chicago, Midwest, Las Vegas, and San Francisco.

That wraps up our tour of the brand new LEGOLAND New York! The park is set to open for previews of 6 of the 7 lands (pirates opening is TBD) on May 29th. The LEGOLAND Hotel is still under construction and yet to be completed though appears close aside from some final cosmetic pieces that were waiting to be installed in the parking lot.
