ORLANDO, FL., (May 22, 2023) – There is no better place to be this summer than SeaWorld, voted one of the best theme parks in the U.S. in USA Today’s 10Best 2023 Readers Choice awards.  This year promises to be amazing with some of the most anticipated and first of its kind brand new coasters opening in every park including the world’s first surf coaster ‘Pipeline’, the longest and fastest straddle coaster on the West Coast ‘Arctic Rescue’, and the world’s first launch flume coaster and the only vertical lift flume ride in North America ‘Catapult Falls’.  Also, all-new this year is the Summer Spectacular that features live entertainment, fireworks, and special performances in every park.  There’s no better time to buy an annual pass and enjoy all new and fan favorite rides, shows and special events all summer long.

“We have a jam-packed summer planned with all new and amazing experiences in every one of our parks and we can’t wait to welcome guests to enjoy new and favorite rides, shows and world class animal presentations as they have fun, cool down, relax, and refuel,” said Marc Swanson, CEO of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment.

Summer highlights at each of the three SeaWorld parks include:

SeaWorld Orlando

·         Ride the waves on the world’s first surf coaster, Pipeline, opening May 27. This first-of-its-kind roller coaster aims to pay tribute to the legendary surfing cultures of the world, providing riders with an experience that replicates the thrilling sensation of riding the waves. The ride features a one-of-a-kind surfboard ride vehicle and stretches over 2,950 feet of track, reaching speeds of up to 60 MPH and an impressive height of 110 feet. It is designed to deliver an adrenaline-pumping experience, appealing even to the most daring of riders.

·         When the sun goes down, the night comes to life at SeaWorld's Summer Spectacular. Guests are encouraged to stay late throughout the summer to immerse themselves in exotic worlds of light and music while experiencing their favorite SeaWorld attractions. End the night with Ignite, a magnificent fireworks display that showcases the brilliance of the sea in the sky above. Come and experience the exhilaration of the summer season at SeaWorld's vibrant Summer Spectacular.

SeaWorld San Diego

·         The all-new family-friendly coaster Arctic Rescue is the fastest and longest straddle coaster on the West Coast with three exhilarating launches. Guests are invited to hop on a snowmobile and launch at up to 40 mph on a chilly adventure as they race through the unpredictable arctic climate to help animals in danger. The snowmobile-style seats create a uniquely immersive coaster experience as riders lean into turns and glide up heights as tall as 30 feet. Following a fun experience on the ride, guests can walk through the Wild Arctic exhibit and witness the wonders of the park’s resident beluga whales, walruses, and ringed seals whose wild populations are being threatened by a loss of Arctic sea ice. According to USA Today’s 10 Best list, Arctic Rescue is one of the most anticipated rides of the year.

·         Kids can play like a Rescue Team Member at the new kid-friendly play area, Rescue Jr. where children become the heroes of the park and learn about animal rescue and rehabilitation in the coolest way possible - through hands-on, active, and engaging experiences. In the new play area, kids will enjoy exciting play elements, a splash pad, water features, climbing structures and amazing rides as well as real rescue vehicles, an obstacle course, fun animal facts, and tips on how to help conservation every day. Kids will also be able to meet Rescue team members and rescued animals to learn more about conservation and helping animals in need.

·         The new FantaSEA of Dreams Fireworks Spectacular is a thrilling spectacle with festive colors and brilliant pyrotechnics that will light up the sky on select nights. From Memorial Day weekend through June 18, guests will feel and experience tropical sounds while Polynesian Fire Dancers tell the stories of the islands and turn up the heat as fire dancers take to the stage. The fun continues with the new SeaWorld Good Vibrations Band performing Beach Boys cover songs on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays plus Memorial Day.

·         The new Summer Spectacular will transform SeaWorld into a breathtaking celebration of summer, sea life, and childlike wonder. A new stunt show and an engaging parade await, plus summer goers will meet mythical mermaids, watch pirates battle for treasure on the high seas, and see lifelike manta rays and jellyfish float along the park’s pathways. The Summer Concert Series will also be returning to the park with a star-studded lineup sure to impress and bring guests back week after week for fun live musical performances.

SeaWorld San Antonio

·         The all-new thrill ride Catapult Falls is the world’s first launched flume coaster and North America’s only vertical lift. Eleven boats, each with eight riders, catapult through the launch at speeds of 30 feet per second, allowing riders to feel the rush of a coaster while experiencing the rocking and swaying of riding on a track of water that kicks up waves as it moves.  Once at the peak of the ride, guests will experience the world’s steepest drop in a flume attraction, angled at a staggering 53 degrees, the chute plummets riders into a watery splashdown at over 37 miles per hour. According to USA Today’s 10 Best list, Catapult Falls is one of the most anticipated rides of the year.

·         New this summer is ImaginOcean, a glow-in-the-dark musical by Broadway director John Tartaglia. Set in SeaWorld’s Sea Star Theater, this one-of-a-kind show features a combination of puppetry and lighting effects to accentuate characters and tell a whimsical story of fish friends on a quest to find hidden treasures in the wonderous depths of the sea. Contrary to the typical stationary positions that puppetry actors perform in, this unique show allows for camouflaged performers to roam the stage as black lights illuminate and bring the neon characters to life.  Directed by Broadway sensation John Tartaglia, this exciting glow-in-the-dark spectacular is the perfect addition to an already impressive lineup of amazing shows.

·         SeaWorld’s Summer Spectacular is back and beginning on June 2nd  Hydropower: Xtreme FX, winner of the 2022 IAAPA Brass Rings Award for Most Creative Sports/Stunt Show, is also back and better than ever.  This unique waterski show includes stunts, a live cover band, glittering pyrotechnics, laser lights, and special effects.  Special shows this summer also include a return of the award-winning Sesame Street Party Parade. Located at the Sesame Street Bay of Play, this parade features fantastic floats and high energy music plus performers jumping rope, hula hooping and parading the park with everyone’s favorite Sesame Street friends. Party goers can get movin’ and groovin’ and beat the heat at the coolest dance party on the block with a resident DJ and party starters.
