PITTSBURGH [February 13, 2024] – The polls are open as Kennywood worlds collide in 2024 with the all-new Potato Patch® - themed bumper cars, and the park is serving up a delicious opportunity for guests to name this one-of-a-kind attraction. Guests can vote for the most a-peel-ing name for the new ride and be entered for a chance to win FREE Potato Patch® Fries all year.
The spud-tacular sweepstakes will commence today for fans to vote for their French-fried favorite. Guests who enter Kennywood’s Vote for the Most A-peel-ing New Ride Name Sweepstakes will choose between three starchy selections to name the new bumper cars - Deep Fried Derby, Potato Smash and Speedy Spuds.
“We are thrilled to give our fans the opportunity to help name the new Patch®-themed ride and get in on the fun,” says Kennywood Assistant General Manager, Rick Spicuzza. “This new ride encompasses the Kennywood experience we strive to offer our guests, a mix of modern thrills and iconic traditions as we continue the park’s multi-year transformation project.”
Kennywood’s all-new appetizing attraction will be the most mouth-watering mash-up yet as the park’s classic bumper car ride goes through a total transformation, themed to the iconic fresh-cut, loaded fries. All eyes are peeled on this spud-tacular sweepstakes, kicking off during Potato Lovers Month.
One grand prize winner will be selected from those who cast their vote to receive a 2024 Gold Season Pass and FREE Potato Patch® fries all year. Four additional winners will each receive a four-pack of tickets to the park.
The bumper car’s tasty transformation continues the massive multi-year park enhancement project, keeping Kennywood fun and unique for future generations to enjoy while staying true to its roots. The ride, located in the front of the park, will feature 20 new cars modeled after the park’s signature snack. Each car will be fitted with fries, oozing cheese sauce and an oversized fork, completing an appetizing look for the most drool-worthy attraction around.
